Dr. Troy W. Morgan is the elder of two children born to Michael and Beulah Morgan. His sister, Micá Morgan, currently resides in Richmond and is employed by Boys & Girls Club.

As a child reared in Virginia Beach, VA, Dr. Morgan enjoyed the nurturing of family and church while in elementary, middle, and high school. He attended Floyd E.Kellam High School where he was active in basketball and track while remaining an Honor Roll student. Dr. Morgan graduated from Kellam High School in 1996 and began a stimulating, challenging college life at Virginia Commonwealth University. While attending VCU, Dr. Morgan majored in Biology/Pre-Med and minored in Chemistry while making the Dean’s List. He remained active in sports at VCU by working as a referee for intramural sports and managing the recreation and aquatic center on campus. He graduated from VCU in May, 2000.

Shortly thereafter, Dr. Morgan attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he received his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree in May 2005. The most challenging and rewarding achievements took place when Dr. Morgan traveled to Ecuador as part of a missionary group to provide medical services to those less fortunate. Additionally, he traveled to Jamaica as part of an undertaking to improve healthcare for minorities.

Spirituality and a strong family upbringing have been the greatest assets in Dr. Morgan’s life. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28 which reads, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” This verse plays a major part in Dr. Morgan’s life, both professional and personal. He is a well-rounded individual who lives by the motto “Treat people how you want to be treated.”
